my stirrup has exactly that connector...I've not had a problem in the 10 or so years I've had it.....it saw a lot of use with the last mondeo which had those pesky leaky rims but it's also good for the bike.

I've got one like that on my foot pump, that's how it's supposed to be.

Just been having a look at a link Mark put up on his “something stirs” thread.
In amongst all the wonderful but unfeasibly impractical horn projects was this:

I’ve often wondered if water cooling was a possibility for a Nelson Pass type of project. Looks pretty straightforward to me.
The world looks so different after learning science. For example, trees are made of air, primarily. When they are burned, they go back to air, and in their flaming heat is released the flaming heat of the Sun which was bound in to convert air into tree.

Apologies to Jack for not noticing his creepy-crawlies, didn't see the post (honest guv).

Another question - has anyone used these dual head tyre vavle connectors? Car/motorbike plus bicycle ...

I've got one but the air only wants to go out of the bicycle valve hole. :?

Can't make it go out the car valve hole instead.

:?:
Nope, there are straight pin versions but your is meant to be like that.

Right OK, well each side is still a bit different, so some wear has still occurred.

My question is, how the hell does it prevent the air coming out the "wrong" hole?

The one I've got, if I block up the bicycle outlet, no air passes at all.

Never used this type before so they're a complete mystery.

Easiest to replace with a "normal" one but is just bugging me.

I've got a double-headed pump dubrey just like that too Mike, mine will blow out the 'wrong' hole sometimes if there's not enough pressure to flip the diverter valve between the Presta and the Schraeder outlets.

I get round it by holding the valve hard against the valve stem and pump until it flips and starts inflating the tube. Maybe yours is stuck in one position permanently though?

Thanks Dave you're right, there's some sort of valve dooberry inside as you say, and is worked by the tyre pressure. Found this out today by actually trying it.

So OK, works! NB: this is on a new pump. Gauge is quite accurate too, which is a nice bonus.

Ta for the tip. :thumbleft:

OK chasps as you were .. :D

I heard that Photobucket may be letting images be posted again, so this is a random picture as a test.

Anyone recognise the view ?

Yep. :)

I was told the pictures would be "watermarked" with a Photobucket logo, but I can't see any on that photo.
