I've purchased a Musical Fidelity B1 amp, it's a bit bashed about with one end cheek missing, and might even work.

It's been delivered but not unpacked yet, hopefully tomorrow.

It's unpacked, and not as battered as I first thought.

According to the circuit board it's a Mk2 version. I've removed all the accumulated dust and powered it up with some old and crap speakers -- it makes a noise.

So now it's in the main system, and I'll try and get a handle on it's sound quality. 10 minutes and no transistor ear yet.

Nah, not the cooling towers, over the past few years they've been decommissioning and demolishing the entire site. The explosions are where they've been blowing up the gurt big turbine halls that was at the centre of Littlebrook D.

I remember Littlebrook C being flattened, and the chimullees coming down back then too. It seemed a lot louder in the 'olden' days. Maybe my hearing has got a lot worse or they're using quieter bangers or summat.

There was an armed seige about 200 yards from us earlier in the week. I had to pass the end of the street concerned in order to pick up Seb from school. There were about 6 of the suvs in the actual street and another one blocking the entrance to the street. It would have been the perfect day for a bank job as I think the whole humberside force must have been in attendance...

Bit sad really, was the bees-knees in its time. What Fred Dibnah used to say, started out fixing up the big factory chimneys then ended up demolishing them.
