First snow this winter.

When I cleared Jeans car at 06:30 it was still snowing, and at least 1.5 inches thick on the car. The snow is wet, but not yet sleet. Driving conditions will be hazardous for a while.

Just had some breakfast (unusual for me this early) and thinking about going back to bed.

Interesting... This is the closest the snow is right now. Might take a drive out on Sunday.

Been trying to snow in Boston, but won't settle. But also forecast ice, so might later. Supposed to be sunny spells tomorrow flippin' cold tho & east wind. I might have to wear my Ushanka hat outdoors.

Oh dear.

5 minutes after Jean left for work I got a phone call, "help, I'm stuck in a flood" !!!!!!!!

I went down in the van, but the water was too deep to get through, so she waded through to me and I got her home.

Poor dear, she was so cold and shivering, but now tucked up in a warm bed with extra duvet.

When it gets proper daylight I'll go down and take a few photos for the insurance company.

Blimey! Is that the ford at the bottom of the hill?

That will take some drying out, hope the engine didn’t ingest any water

Ditto. That's what killed Kay's escort van a couple of years ago. Hydraulic lock and bent con rod.

Not as far as I know, Jean turned it off before it stopped through water ingress, but the insurance tell us it's a write off job.

Yep, in the dark the water level is difficult to judge. I was not aware we had had enough rain for that sort of water level.

A friend of mine had the same about 10 years ago with an old 2002 corsa he had when we had some really bad flooding, it died while underwater and pulled alot of water in
We towed it out with his brothers land rover.
Ended up taking the plugs out and turning the engine with a big torque wrench on the bottom pulley to push as much water out as possible and using a wet vac and some tubing to get it all out of the bores through the plug holes.
We did eventually get it to start, but it still ended up written off because the electrics and all sorts of sensors were buggered. Airbox was full of sludge, injectors, ecu, the lot were shot. Water in the oil through the crankcase breather It would have been fixable with an engine rebuild, but who wants to do that with an ancient old 3 pot corsa
Also starring Rex Hamilton as Abraham Lincoln
