For anyone who is disabled, or needs a wheelchair, this electric mobility device would be really ace.
Even though I don't need one I'd love to try it out.
Here is a you tube video detailing the device and how it came to be.

Just to say sorry for Steve, from me too.

Yep, been thinking all day what to say Steve. Nothing helps much. But its the one last gift you can give your friend to know when its time. Worst bit is coming home with the empty collarIt’s 3:40 am

The hardest of days.
There are two little mounds at the bottom of our garden where the current occupant plays. Both left an unfillable gap when they left, as will Isla in due course but all three enriched our lives immeasurably and were loved from the first day to the last. Although we grieve when they leave us, they do not. They only know our love.

The world looks so different after learning science. For example, trees are made of air, primarily. When they are burned, they go back to air, and in their flaming heat is released the flaming heat of the Sun which was bound in to convert air into tree.

Question for our-Jack(Nick).
We've got a small bird house I made last year that some Bluetits nested and fledged from earlier this year.
Yesterday and today we've noticed a number of quite large Bees going into the box too.
Gut feeling is to leave them well-alone and let them do their own 'bee' things in there.
Any advice? Ta.

They're queen bumbles looking to over winter... Leave them bee (SWIDT).
You can make bumble bee houses in various ways. I'll post some links later - as it happens, I'm making birdboxs as Christmas presents for folk this year...
I bought a new to me/sh serious table saw for not a lot. What a difference to my old Axminster cheapy... Processes oak stock without breaking sweat and the cuts are unbelievably clean with no breakout at all... Micrometer adjustable fence too - 0.05mm steps... The poor fence on the old saw was the main reason for the upgrade... Only had to give it a good clean, new blade and replace some bearings...
200kg of pure joy! We're selling one of the mowers to make more room in the refurbed garage (aka soon-to-be woodwork shop...)
Makes knocking up cabinets/bird boxes/speakers etc. a breeze...

did a couple of little things over the last few days
on the moth rcm i got off our dave, i kept losing the velvet strips off the vacuum arm. it kept sucking them off the arm when the adhesive strip got wet and i had to go digging around inside it to remove them and make sure they weren't blocking it up. To stop this, i managed to get hold of some wide velvet strip and stick it on so it goes all way around the tube. the double sided tape also goes all way around so it cant possibly get pulled off by the vacuum.
sorted.

I also altered the platter mat on the lenco. i wanted some more height to get the vta right after i swapped over from the dv20 to the at33, its about 2mm shorter so it was abit nose down.
i couldnt face adjusting the arm height because altering one thing means everything has to be reset which is a ballache and takes ages.
i had some 2mm nitrile discs left from when i replaced to discs on the jbe platter pods, so i marked out the mat and stuck them on. they will come off if needs be.
looks nice and works a treat

sounds better now with the vta being corrected

At the old place in Essex we had bumble bees take over a bluetit box one year, let them get on with it, went away eventually. But it was different! And interesting to see them coming and going.
