Would it be too smug to say that we in North Wales have had four good rainy days in the last 2 weeks ?

Dave - give it a rest about your giant hosepipe , man :!:

Am in Istanbul for a few days r&r after the swim - we were going down to Gallipoli to pay respects to SWMBO's great uncle who died during the Suvla Bay landings disaster.in 1915 but we've had 24 hours continuous huge & violent thunderstorms. Set to continue today...

Too much water over here!

Yup not good news.

Tried to work on the little X19 yesterday, lasted 20mins. 36C in the sun and 30 in the shade, ugh!

I've noticed last few days frequent car horn hooting along my road, I think the hot weather is getting to people and their fuses are getting short!

Tonight's bowls match was called off due to heavy rain.

Thunder & lightening at the moment with steady rain.

Good stuff.
There must be some lightning around here somewhere because the lights just went out and my HiFi stopped . To Nick's credit the DAC was still up & ready for music.

Two or three calls today from customers whose routers had been killed by lightning strikes.

Tonight we have the longest lunar eclipse of the century, Mars at closest approach, with Saturn, Jupiter and Venus all visible at the same time. And it’s the first cloudy night for weeks 😟
The world looks so different after learning science. For example, trees are made of air, primarily. When they are burned, they go back to air, and in their flaming heat is released the flaming heat of the Sun which was bound in to convert air into tree.

Excellent from here - Dubai Astronomy Society had a whole evening of events. Great fun and a good turnout. Kicked off around midnight. Clear skies. 36C and lowish humidity. I would post photos but they're not especially interesting!

Spent 6 hours yesterday dune bashing in 48C heat Aircon in the Jeep called quits half way through 😢
