My mum and dad in Manchester were evacuated at 10pm last night because of fears of the Mersey. A slightly uncomfortable but dry night in a community centre and they were allowed home at 7 this morning. No flooding and the waters are receding now. Hopefully no more rain for a while.

And Boris was there today to take in the scene. Took him days and days, and a lot of bad press, before he pitched up in Fishlake a year ago.

Our insane #1 son (alledgedly) just did a 180km loop from London to Southend and back at an average of about 26km/h and elevation of 1390mtrs.

That's a wind-chill of -4C for 7 hours.

The boy is deranged...

Edit: just found out he wasn't wearing gloves... allegedly...

Yep. And I had words about that. He spoke with the police in Southend (there were lots there) and they weren't bothered by cyclists and seemed happy enough. It was folk in cars travelling together and stopping in the area they were after.

Whilst a great ride, it's definitely against the spirit of the lockdown.

Against the spirit of the lockdown ?

That's putting it mildly.
