Nothing In Particular

I had to fight back tears
Whenever an honest man discovers that he's mistaken, he will either cease to be mistaken or he will cease to be honest.

Do we need that sarcastic option you were going to introduce Nick?
I have to say I was a bit disappointed to see a fairly conventional capsule a top the rocket - I thought they were going to have someone actually driving the Tesla car this time.

Sorry, I couldn't resist!

Not for this one.

BTW, there was nothing conventional about that capsule.

I was reflecting on the topic of space flight/exploration with a friend earlier - It's amazing just how far mankind has come in my lifetime - Sputnik was launched just 10days after I was born and it's entirely possible I'll still be around to see a manned Mars mission! If you wind the clock backwards for the same length of time the Wright brother's manned flight was still the best part of a decade in the future.
Sorry, I couldn't resist!

Yep, and with a bit of a gap in the middle,. Though I can't help but think that that gap was needed for the commercial incentive to build up. We are truly living in the future and every now and then something happens to make it obvious.

I thought it was awesome. Really impressed, though their spacesuits look like something Gerry/Sylvia Anderson would have dreamt up... Suspiciously like Parker's uniform... Padded shoulders? Really?

Ah!
The Starman suits, as they've been called, are all in one piece and customised for the astronaut. Their look was conceived by Hollywood costume designer Jose Fernandez, who has worked on Captain America: Civil War and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

I liked the printed helmets. made to measure at it's best. Sometimes I think Musk does thing because why the hell not.

We also watched it live. Hardly riveting TV, but that's what you want really. Safe is boring.

Blasted cats' doormat presents
Brown Long-eared bat. They fly slowly and near ground, so fairly easy to predate... Not at all rare, but sad nonetheless...
