The world looks so different after learning science. For example, trees are made of air, primarily. When they are burned, they go back to air, and in their flaming heat is released the flaming heat of the Sun which was bound in to convert air into tree.

Beautiful here in North Wales , and not that cold in sheltered spots. Not a cloud in the sky - a perfect February day.

Just starting to warm up here - was in Abu Dhabi at the weekend (Friday/Saturday) and it hit 35C. Rain & high winds (dust storms) today.

Visited the new Louvre - it was truly amazing. Just beautiful.

Also a huge organic farm and spent several happy hours working in a government-funded bee project there.

Sunny North Essex at the moment, our snow is due Tuesday, but not supposed to be heavy.

Update on my mother for those who helped with advice -
She was in hospital for about 2 1/2 weeks recovering from the should dislocation & break. She had to move on to respite care in a care home due to lack of mobility and capability, this has been a bit grim for her but she's gritted her teeth and coped as she does. Unfortunately she caught a norovirus type thing just as she left hospital so missed a 'fracture clinic' appointment from the care home on 5th Feb - this was put back to some vague date of 19th March or maybe later .... Since then , no intermediate care team was assigned. This turned out to be due to the delayed fracture clinic appointment, they can't do anything till the consultant at the hospital can give the go-ahead to remove the sling for her arm. Last week we finally worked out we needed to hassle the consultant's secretary for an earlier appointment - so that is now done and re-set for this week - Tuesday. Thankfully, in the last 4 weeks at the home, she's recovering very well from the fracture , so the need to get her home is fairly urgent.
As there's unlikely to be any financial help for a stairlift, I've got an assessment and quote and will likely get this installed on Friday at her home. Hopefully we will get more advice soon from the intermediate care team in the next week or two about other mods to the house and kit.

'Course my health is going backwards with the stress, but hopefully things will pick up in the medium term.
