Damn! We've got a cottage down in Cornwall for the week ending June 30th. I wonder if I can make it up for the Sunday as I particularly wanted you chaps to hear the DSD decoder - hmm...
Sorry, I couldn't resist!

One week into my semi retirement and I don’t think I’ve been so busy! LOL! However I have had a couple of days of ‘down time’ where I’ve managed to reacquaint myself with my HiFi. These have been pretty special given the hours I was working up to the end of Jan. so I’ve greatly appreciated the spare time.

And what! test, low and behold, fuses! What fun, mains plug fuses replaced by copper rod. Only on the radial to my HiFi you understand but hey they made bugger all difference but kept me happy as a pig in sh*t for a while.

Here’s to more downtime!

A week into my own retirement and I am starting to get used to it.
Sitting in a little village pub today with the missus and a nice meal, I actually used the "R" word for the first time.
OTOH, to mark my 60th birthday I have now received a nice little test kit from the NHS bowel cancer screening service. :pale:

Whenever I pop one of those in the post, I spare a thought for the poor bloke who’s job it is to open it at the other end.

That would be why it wouldn’t fit in the envelope. Had to send it by parcel post...

Now here's a thing with which I want you to be reassured. Last January I did the poo card for the third time and although I thought it looked good , as only poo can, it was in five days I was sent an appointment for a sigmoid thingameejig in the local bowel clinic. The appointment for the procedure took ten more days.

Hooray for the NHS!!!

When I first read that I expected your appointment to be with a Dr S Thingameejig.

Ah yes Dr Freud. Nahw I merely meant 'endoscope'. It's amazing lying on my side, bum exposed to the Consultant and young nurse and I'm watching the camera in my large intestine all the way to my caecum....any more you want to know ...well, it's not that pleasant but at least I got the results pretty much straight away.
