Just heard the news on the radio. Those tracks from Woodstock were amazing, I remember 1st hearing him on a cassette tape of Woodstock. I'd never heard acoustic guitar played that hard before.

Ta! I found it by accident in the 80's on a CD when I was looking for some of his late 60's stuff.

The track 'Freedom' was my introduction to Richie Havens... he even asks you to personally turn his guitar mic up Mike....listen... :-) about 0.49 ish...

Yeh, this is a sad day .
I just love that scene as he sits down and starts, the atmosphere is just magical . 500,000 people out there ready for the music . What a hero - and those great 'biblical' shoes he's wearing !
