Does anyone know what the bass/mid drivers are on the winning speaker ?

( ps. click on the picture for larger version, and 'save as' to your machine to enlarge further )
Obviously German but not sure which. Interesting texture on the cones.

Not sure. They have 'VEB' and something like 'Lachsenverk' or 'LachsenverR' on the back.
I have not found much but there are these on EBay -
https://www.ebay.ie/itm/matched-pair-10 ... rmvSB=true
From VEB (Funkwerk Leipzig)
So maybe that's what they are, East German though they could be pre-war of course.

Just digging into this :

Dave and Jeffrey could do with giving a bit more info about the valves, I think :

Nice Philips valves, bit like an 833 I suppose.

I didn't get to hear the C3m>GM70 amp, or anything in that room, really. The other side of that room was Quads and a lot of room damping ( way too much for my taste ) so everything sounded kind of dead to my tastes.
I was much more interested in what speakers were used, if I didn't find the speakers interesting I didn't really look at the amps.
There were two big multiway horn systems there, one was our 4.5 way system ( the Norwegians ) and the other was the big system in the main room.
Both sounded very good on the second day after lots of tuning. At least in my highly biased opinion.
There was some very interesting tape and vinyl sources in use too.

Yes, I think I'd be in the same camp re. speakers first , as the amps are less likely to be the limiting factor, at least above the low bass.
Certainly some nice front-ends there - some very interesting stuff and more variety than I've seen before.
So ...can you go into specifics, I'm interested in what the driver was on the large ellipticals on the main system and how that part sounded ?
Is the Norwegian system still using 288-B's on the mid horns, and how do those horns do the midrange ?
There was that new Celestion driver on the WE replica sectoral horns - any good ?

Actually there's quite a lot of info just today on the Joelist. Answers some questions - but still not what the outputs were on the JJ amp !

There seems to be some confusion, so I'll post a picture of the Norwegian system that we brought with us to the festival.IslandPink wrote: ↑Tue Nov 14, 2017 6:08 pm Is the Norwegian system still using 288-B's on the mid horns, and how do those horns do the midrange ?

No WE replica sectoral horns here.
The new Celestion drivers was part of our system, and the mid horn is a design by Bjørn Kobrek and Thomas Dunker, and has nothing to do with WE as such. The Celestion drivers are very good, much better than the 288. Bjørn Kolbrek works at Celestion, so he arranged the loan of the drivers, they went straight back to Celestion after the festival.
