#1 Lyrics.

I'm sure you've been here before, but I though it might be worth a 'fave lyric' thread.

I like this one for its poetic way of expressing the fragility of existence. (He said.. like a poor man's Brian Sewell)

Beth Nielsen-Chapman - Seven Shades Of Blue

I wanna hold you now
And listen to you breathe
It's like the ocean's sound
Whispering through the trees
In the hollow of your shoulder
There's a tidepool of my tears
Where the waves came crashing over
And the shoreline disappeared

Oh, baby, close your eyes
Fly back there with me
To where the phosphor shines
Green flashlights from the sea
And our nets were full of soft shells
And our hearts were free from toil
And we made love on the kitchen table
Until the water reached a boil

We hold it all for a little while, don't we
Kiss the dice
Taste the rain like little knives upon our tongues
We can do no wrong when the lights go on
And the music plays
And we take the stage like we own the place
As if time were cheap and the night forever young

So let them turn my soul
Seven shades of blue
And with the ocean's roar
I will wave to you
And the birds will sing my laughter
And the whales will steal my song
I'll be okay forever after
And the world will get along

We hold it all for a little while, don't we
Kiss the dice
Taste the rain like little knives upon our tongues
We can do no wrong when the lights go on
And the music plays
And we take the stage like we own the place
As if time were cheap and the night forever young

...along the same theme as above.

Here lyrics to a fave song of mine discussing the common fruit that is the Peach.

Movin to the country gonna eat a lot of peaches
Im movin to the country Im gonna eat me a lot of peaches
Im movin to the country Im gonna eat a lot of peaches
Movin to the country Im gonna eat a lot of peaches
Peaches come from a can they were put there by a man
In a factory downtown
If I had my little way Id eat peaches everyday
Sun soakin bulges in the shade

Movin to the country Im gonna eat a lot of peaches
Movin to the country Im gonna eat a lot of peaches
Im movin to the country gonna eat a lot of peaches
Movin to the country gonna eat a lot of peaches

I took a little nap where the roots all twist
Squished a rotten peach in my fist
And dreamed about you woman
I poked my finger down inside makin a little room for a ant to hide
Natures candy in my hand or can or a pie

Millions of peaches peaches for me
Millions of peaches peaches for free
Millions of peaches peaches for me
Millions of peaches peaches for free

Look out

Millions of peaches peaches for me
Millions of peaches peaches for free
Millions of peaches peaches for me
Millions of peaches peaches for free

Look out

I suspect that:

1. You're not taking this thread seriously
2. You're pissed
3. Both of the above.

 Yus! Sussed, I'll give myself a clip round the ear, owwwwwwwwww.

Actually I do like lyrics that are a bit 'odd' on occasions, that Peaches song is just great IMHO just because there is no hidden meaning it's just about the love of peaches..

I still love this song too, lyrics by the late Robert Calvert esq.

Hawkwind- Orgone Accumulator

I've got an Orgone Accumulator
It makes me feel greater
I'll see you sometime later
When I'm through with my Accumulator

It's no social integrator
It's a one man isolator
It's a back brain stimulator
It's a cerebral vibrator

Those energy stimulators
Turn your eyeballs into crators
But an Orgone Accumulator
Is a superman creator

It's no social integrator
It's a one man isolator
It's a back brain stimulator
It's a cerebral vibrator

I've got an Orgone Accumulator
And it makes me feel grater
I'll see you sometime later
When I'm through with my Accumulator

...and this one, again Mr Calvert/ Hawkwind

Flat block
Of two dimensions
Neon totem pole to the sky
Keeping scores of people stacked up so high Above the ground
But all they can hear is the sound
Of the wind in the antennae
It's a human zoo
A suicide machine

High rise
Living in a high rise
High rise
Living in a high rise
High rise
Living in a high rise
High rise
All stacked up in a high rise block

Childhood
Of concrete cube shaped
A flypaper stuck with human life
Caged up rage
Swarming all the time
Tear out the telephones
Rip up the pages of directories
And wreck all these
High speed lifts and elevators
Be a sabotage rebel without a cause

High rise
Living in a high rise
High rise
Living in a high rise
High rise
Living in a high rise
High rise
All stacked up in a high rise block

Starfish
Of human blood shape
Tentacles of human gore
Spread out on the pavement from the 99th floor Well somebody said that he jumped
But we know he was pushed
He was just like you might have been
On the 99th floor of a suicide machine

High rise
Living in a high rise
High rise
Living in a high rise
High rise
Living in a high rise
High rise
All stacked up in a high rise block

Corrr.... Wish I could write lyrics like that.

okay, but the prize goes to tht chap who tells me what an 'orgone accumulator' is (was).

(interestingly, Black boy Stu would be able to answer this and he'd then go into a rant about how german orgone accumulators are better than british prgone accumulators because blah blah blah.)

Me Sir-can i have the prize Sir ?

http://www.orgone.org/articles/ax2001-grnfld-aa.htm

How about a DIY version ?

Seriously though, some interesting topics completely unrelated (or is it ?) to our hobby crop up now and then.

Could do with some of that "energy" at the moment.

Googling is cheating ... or so examination bodies now say.

I'll have to think of an appropriate prize - The collected works of Wilhelm Reich, but would you read them?

Also-Cloudbusting by Kate Bush was based on a device designed by the same Wilhelm Reich !

No, don't have any longer.

Actually Billy boy Reich had a fascinating and long life as a co-worker with Dr Freud, fighting the rise of fascism in Germany and escaping to the halcyon fields of California, loads of sex and then the hippies, Timothy Leary and .... well by then he was an old man.

Somewhere along the road Hawkwind kinda took to his ideas hence all those turgid and silly lyrics.
