Firstly it is not very loud, but that was expected.
I need a tad more HT so the first cap (1uf) will be replaced by a 2uf when it's powered down.
The TDA voltage is a gnats under 25v, which was the maximum recommended, and the heaters are at 12.4v DC. There is no noise from the speakers when idling, although the 0-260v mains transformer did buzz a bit. That was almost cured by mounting on some soft plastic strips and not tightening the fixing screws so tight.
Sound quality is quite good, but I would prefer it a bit louder.

Strangely, when I took this round to a friends house it sounded absolutely CRAP.
When I got home it was back to being good.
Anyway, it was really not loud enough, so this project has been wound up and attention turned to a similar effort using some CV2799 I had to hand.
These have responded MUCHbetter.
