the best thing since sliced llama!

half wave rectifiers, they do 600volts at 300ma and they take 6volt heaters. Tiny volts drop and they have a lovely slow rise time - makes GZ34 look positively hasty.

I bought 12 in all from an epayer in Russia (and I don't suppose it is really his fault). I now have five left. Two went down at Witham, two cracked on their own and one has just lost it's filament. Two others conked out along the way. They are all Svetlana marked.

I also have some boxed Svetlanas from USA; maybe they are the reliable ones... maybe.

I am using these in Amity - wonder if I won't be resorting to more conventional rectifiers eventually? Amityvile Mk2 ? a certainty!

Hi-can i ad my 2p worth.

I also am now a fan of these,i bought 8 and use 4 in the ECL82 "Monster" power supply, and as yet have not had one die,or break !

When PT15 gets its makeover and goes "back to basics" with AC heaters the 4 spare damper diodes might find a home.
