#1 Drew Pritchard Fail ( W.E. )

Post by IslandPink »

Just been watching a very recent series of Drew Pritchard's 'Salvage Hunters' on telly.
He's in an old cinema museum in Brighton. Looks at some rather dirty multi-cell horn system with a compression driver. Shot of driver - 'Western Electric'.
After moaning about the dirty black finish of the horns ( damping tar ) he buys it for about £100. Says some sort of geeky type would have some interest in it.
Since there was no further information on the programme I assume he sold it on for a normal profit :confused3:
It was probably worth about £10,000 !

This was the type of horn he bought, with some black gunk coated on the horns. Thing is, it was fitted with an original WE555 driver, the Japanese go nuts over stuff like that -

Somebody's going to be happy at picking those up for a song.

Knowing him, he will probably have one of his "experts" convert it into a "cool" chandelier or coat-stand and throw the driver in the bin.....

Please don't say things like that. I'm feeling delicate enough at the moment. :(
