Squirrels with rock concert type ringing in their ears, hmm, I shall go to bed with that image....

Phil, I'd recommend adding some stuffing to the box.
I added some in the tapered bit, and immediately behind the driver. Bass cleared up (though it's a little lean now), and the mids have improved. Recommended.

I did put some of the DTB underlay on half the back panel of mine behind the driver.
And also a foam plug in the port helped things quite lot, I "nicked" them from my MC2 speakers.

Four years since the previous post.
These speakers have been languishing in the loft sans drivers with only spiders for company.
Anyway, I decided the other day that my TV sound quality was just so naff and that something had to be done.
Plan A was using Jeans Sony amp and mega bass speakers. Not bad.
Plan B was to replace the Sony mega bass speakers with some British made (by B & W) Sony speakers. Less "bass" but a bit better overall.
Plan C was to resurrect these mini monitors and use the FE127 drivers (as used on the baffles) but they don't quite clear the speaker brace. So it's back to the enabled FE126, and very nice they are too. Speech is more realistic than on A or B.
Just need to sort out some stands now.

There may be a plan D, cos I noticed the Frugalhorn 3 speakers also in the loft.
They need proper terminal blocks for the cables, but I do have a pair somewhere.
I'll try that route first before buying (or making) stands for the mini monitors.
