Not having the drivers right now can be a good thing - I know I've rushed things, wanting to try them ASAP, but if I didn't have the drivers, I'd probably have taken a much more careful approach.

Interested to hear them at Owston, though. When you get the drivers, bed them in with the track Ed uploaded recently. Lots of LF energy that's sure to get the cones moving :D

I think I might have made a mistake on designing the bass/mid horn :

You've started building it now though... right?
Finish it off, you might find that boundry loading fills things in a little anyway.

If it's wrong, you've learnt a valuable lesson. If it's right, you've done what you've originally intended.

No, Chris, this is the next horn up - the 120-700 Hz Hyperbolic. Trouble is , I've bought the drivers .
More on that one in due course....

Speakers for the Tapped horns ( 18 Sound 10W400 ) are now in the country and will prob be delivered on Monday . Unfortunately I'll be in London for a week on a training course . Typical !
I shall have to get on the phone to DHL to stop them going back to Italy .

Drivers did arrive OK as my landlord was working in the kitchen at the time !
They look pretty meaty - I should be able to use them up to about 0.1% of their power handling :D
Sorted the mounting holes and fitted the internal panel last night , just been sawing up some 3/4 dowel and fitting four little bracing 'pillars' internally . Should be able to fit the other side panel and get unit No.1 working in some fashion at the weekend . Pictures in a couple of days .

Oh, will be picking up some 'bendy MDF' to help build the mid/bass hrons, on Friday .

I think that translates as someone was in when the postman / courier knocked .. Image

I was wondering when you'd ask me that , Paul !
I actually tried ringing you not long ago, to ask what you wanted to do with them.
I'll PM you because there's another solution instead of posting that might be possible.
Good to see you're back .

Another shot showing the bracing dowels a bit more clearly .
The base panel is a nice piece of 25mm birch ply that screws onto the sides & back once I've fitted the speaker . The unit stands vertically as a pillar, for those who missed the start of this discussion .

The speaker has fallen out onto the carpet Mark.

Might need stronger blu-tack for that.

Top tip!
