I got excited then as I thought they may be about maglev on the platter, which is something I have been thinking about with the turntable I have been working on for ever.

old thicko here......

I really can't make out the operating principal......is the platter floating or is it's mass sitting on the bearing?

Yes I thought there was a picture of the magnets there somewhere , quite disappointing.
Nick, what do you mean - I assumed there would be some sort of ring magnet on both the plinth and on the platter ?

It just seems to use a pair of opposing magnets to lift the platter so it isn't running on a hardened ball or bearing shaft end in the bottom of the bearing housing, but it still runs a bearing that is a shaft as normal with a set of liners

Ahh ok, it is doing what I hoped supporting the platter on a magnet like clearaudio and a few others do. Hard to see from the pictures.
