Phono stage circuit recommendations
#31 Re: Phono stage circuit recommendations
I've just bought a "Muffsy" phono stage and PSU to build. Give it a whirl. I think it was designed by a guy over on AudioKarma.

What a "lovely" name for it.

I know.. I think it's the nickname of the guy who flogs the kit. He's Swedish so god only knows what it means over there...

Sorry no. It was in the days before PCs existed (that I knew of). It was done with stickers and film and handed to a PCB manufacturer. Around early 80s on the other side of the world.pre65 wrote: That's interesting Stephen.
Do you still have the "files" for the PCBs ?
cheers,

Great name, isn't it?pre65 wrote:What a "lovely" name for it.
It doesn't really mean anything in Swedish, but since it sounds sort of naughty in English I thought the name would be fun to use. Kind of like software being called Gimp, Git, Mame and whatnot, but with more, shall I say... positive associations to it.
The circuit has evolved from the Audiokarma CNC phono stage, which itself stems from an application note in an op amp datasheet. Gerbers and a PDF for etching your own board can be found here: http://www.muffsy.com/blogs/post/Make-Y ... ffsy-PCBs/

EDIT:
Here's another version of this phono stage from theslowdiyer. It's mono and uses single op amps instead of dual ones. Everything you need to build it, including gerbers, can be found here: https://theslowdiyer.wordpress.com/2016 ... iaa-clone/
