A mint half speed master of dire straits 'making movies'. Got it for 7 quid, would have been rude not to.

Compared it to my normal copy and it seems to have a better sound, sounds more atmospheric, more detailed I suppose. It does sound better, only half speed master I have, but there does seem to be something in it

Nice track. That must be tough, being near a record shop. I would have to go to Rhyl ( plenty of disadvantages there ! ) , or be up in Keswick, where I do get tempted most times.

Carlos santana 'caravanserai'
the nice 'elegy' because the cover is fab. Instantly recognisable as a hypgnosis cover. Haven't a clue what it is though.....

The Nice was Keith Emerson’s band before ELP. Good stuff, without the pomp and excesses that came later. No Moog either, just a Hammond organ and piano or two.

Heard this the other day, a remastered version by Paul Simon I was told, and it sounded fab. Went out on Friday and purchased it from my local store. Unfortunately due to us moving have not been able to play my copy, tt still at old address.

The original sounds great so this remaster must be quite something

Spent quite a few quid on some records today.
These came from an interesting collection, apparently the guy used to buy the lps then immediately record them to reel to reel tape, then store them never to be played again! As such, they are essentially brand new and pristine. Literally.
Ive seen brand new lps in worse condition than these.....
Had a poke through the boxes as russ, my record guy hadn't priced them up yet and rapidly ran out of money, and went over budget...

Got pat metheny 'works', spyro gyra 'morning dance', Stanley Clarke 'stanley clarke' and 'school days', velvet underground 'white light white heat' and Keith jarrett 'the koln concert.

There was loads of other stuff that I wanted but had to draw the line at those....

Now that IS a find - well done Ant. This is the sort of thing the record dealers dream about . Good choices .
Who's Russ ( I mean contact info ) and does he have a list of what's left ?

No he doesn't have contact details he just sells through the stall, i asked him why this morning and he says he doesn't want to use ebay ect, doesn't even have a computer! Only takes cash, no cards, he just loves having the stall and the music!
He's a really interesting guy

Bought another 2 today, jaco pastorius 'word of mouth' and weather report 'black market'

Shop in Keswick continues to exceed expectations.
The Nils Lofgren 'bootleg' album I was looking for, as if by magic, appears - got this for about £25 . Disc excellent, just needs a clean, one or two light scratches & relatively few spindle-marks. Cover is split at the bottom edge, hence bargain price ( and Mark S being generous ) .
