Vinyl records making a comeback?

Not in my bloody house they're not.
Not now, not ever.....never :)

What I would dearly love, is someone to show me a turntable/arm/cartridge combination that costs below £400 and plays without mistracking or clogging up with fizz at the ends of record sides.

I have 600 records laying silent and unplayed.

A nice balanced phono stage for a couple of hundred quid to go with it would be nice too.

Alas, I fear I'm asking too much at those prices. :(

I see ( or hear ) your point Steve.
Distortion doesn't seem to bother me so much.
I hear it, but accept it.
I just like listening to vinyl.
That said, tangential arms seems to me to less prone to mistracking at the end of the record.

Re phono stages, I think the discussion earlier where fet/valve stages
was used was interesting.

There you go: (I'm biased, of course...)

On previous form, should go for about £350. Add one of these to keep dust at bay:

Yeah, well, if you buy cheap belt-driven rubbish like that, what do you expect?

I haven't costed MY turntable setup but I reckon it must be into 5 figures by now... and it works pretty well...
