Ed, I think I saw somewhere that it doesn't like ARM - used by your raspberry pi direction.
I'm working my way through trying to understand it; its a long time since I worked with Unix. It appears that I can use it with my Juli@ sound card so could experiment with a dual boot option on my new player but that will only give me a music player so need to work out how to get music to it in way that is simple and repeatable (WAF!).

the raspberry is on the back burner at the moment...I'm currently playing with a mark 1 atom board....they are only £35 old stock and are a far better bet for this.....I also have a few HP thin clients in mind for servers, which are also true value for money when used in this application......
