FLAC files.

I think we all know by now what this section is for.

#1 FLAC files.

Post by pre65 »

I have some music on FLAC files, which will play on my computer using Foobar.

Do I need to convert these FLAC files before EAC can burn them onto a CD ?

I thought I'd done this before, but if I did the method is eluding me. :?

Yes, you do need to convert them to WAV.
You can convert them to WAV using Foobar.

If you use Nero for burning discs then there is a plugin for that which obviates the need to manually decompress the files.
It works well.

If you haven't got a cue sheet for EAC to work from then you'll not get any joy from it.
And I wouldn't like to try and write a cue sheet

Thanks to Chris (he rang me  ) I converted to WAV in Foobar, saved the files in "my music", then imported to EAC and burned to CD.

Simples.

ps I saved the cue sheet when EAC had finished burning.

Always wondered what those cue sheets were for :?

If I want to burn FLAC files to CD I use Ashampoo, there's usually a free version of it being offered somewhere, it's similar to Nero but without so many frills.

It's not good for everything, Ashampoo, but for free it does FLAC to CD rather well. My copy of Nero ( 8 ) doesn't recognise FLAC files.

I recently downloaded This to convert some FLAC files to WAV. It's free and it does the job but if you do decide to d/l and use it study each stage of the install process as it will try and foist stuff you probably don't want on you, like Yahoo tool bars and the like, but they're optional.

Once, in my life, I bought a bottle of Head and Shoulders shampoo.

After three weeks of use I developed dandruff, whereas before I had none.

I stopped using it, the dandruff went away.

It's a funny old world.

I use Badedas shower gel, mostly, to wash me hair but sometimes Herbal Essences shampoo. And occasionally a heady mix of castrol GTX and lemon juice.

On a more serious note, Ashampoo burning software is worth having but not worth paying for. It's not really open source but there always seems to be a free copy going somewhere.

Don't settle for shampoo. Demand real poo.
