Very obvious and you've probably checked, but is there an internal fuse?

I recently had what if thoughts about the Drobo,so got an external 1.5 Tb off Amazon for about 60 quid and backed it all up. Glad I did after reading your post! Hope you get it sorted mate.

ed wrote:Is there a POST(power on self test) beep sequence at switch on? most logic related equipment has one of some sorts....
Thanks Ed, do you mean when I press the button to turn it on does it beep and stuff? Sorry for the dumb question - when you and Nick start I quickly get lost.

Pressing the on button does absolutely nothing, not even holding it down. It's as if the it wasn't plugged in (ahem).

I did look but couldn't see anything obvious. Have to admit I was hoping it was a nice, easy to replace fuse that had blown. I think I'm going to have to strip it down to find out so might find out a bit more then.

Yep, there were a number of partitions. but I don't remember what they were. It's not something I'm familiar with so it didn't stick.

That's an interesting link Chris, I'll have a look further. Looks like QNAP technical help might be worth trying too, though when I was struggling to upgrade to SqueezeCenter they were at the same time very helpful but not. Or to put it a different way, they were very speedy in response but the response was too techno for an average punter.
