#1 DC Developments

Post by IslandPink »

Just bought my Tone Tubby 12" speakers for OB through Denis Cornell at DC Developments - he's the UK dealer on these .
http://www.dc-developments.com/index.html
He was very efficient - took about 2 weeks total even thought they had to be shipped from the US first . He was an absolute pleasure to deal with , very nice guy .

Denis Cornell....I knew that name rang a bell, somewhere in the past.

He sponsored a Guitarist I used to gig with lots and knew very well... -> http://www.dc-developments.com/cornell_ ... lding.html

Small world innit.

Ooofff, the 'reviewer' wasn't too kind was he!

I remember struggling to play some of the tunes with him that eventually went onto the 1st RR album but... it wasn't for me. He's a mega fan of Wayne Krantz and that ilk, it just didn't do anything for me. I played with him (Simon, not Wayne Krantz) in quite a few different bands and it was proper fun. He's a good player and very funny but when he veered off into RR I knew it wasn't my cuppa, I can't play like that and didn't like the music plus I haven't got a suitable suit! :-) The Funk/Fusion and Renta-party band(s) I played with him in were great fun though, even the 8 piece C+W band too.

We were young...we tried playing 'Fusion' in pubs too...in the early 90's...20 years too late possibly :-) The Function band stuff and Cornell sponsorship came after this...

Out of interest, does he ever look at the audience?

Heh, he used to! I haven't seen or played with him since ~2005 so I dunno anymore.

As time went on Simon and Sarah got more into Jazz and stuff and I went on to play in other bands with the brill drummer in that band above ^^^ http://seankanedrums.com/ in another really grooving and busy function band. Then Dad the Bass got really ill and died and I haven't really proper-regular gigs since then, just occasional dep-gigs. I got right involved in stuntplanking and DIY audio... and we all know where that leads... right kids! Just say no! :-)

Aahhhh! The notorious 2003 fake-tan drought, it affected us all badly! Those were the days...I haven't got any skin that'll go brown now, I've got Vitiligo.

Sorry for the thread jack BTW Mark.

No probs Dave.
You might be interested in my comments on run-in time on the Tone Tubbies , on my speaker thread. I linked to a fairly interesting discussion by guitar enthusiasts about this .
