Fair enough.
Given the cost of 8m silver wire, you wouldn't save much by making them yourself.
It is only 4 nines silver though.
But could you hear the difference. :)
Much to learn there is.

I've got some of these and a good few elsewhere. They are neater than I can solder and they sound ... ? okay. As good as any. I like them but it is cheaper to do what I do; I solder tehm up myself using silver coated, copper wire covered in teflon.

I've never been successful soldering phono plugs, I hate it so it makes sense to me to pay a bit more and save myself hassle,

A miser, cheapskate, curmudgeon, penny pincher, piker, scrooge, skinflint or tightwad is a person who is reluctant to spend money, sometimes to the point of forgoing even basic comforts and some necessities. Old people were commonly thought to be miserly but this stereotype is less common since support programs such as Social Security have resulted in less poverty in old age.[1]
Freud attributed the development of miserly behaviour to toilet training in childhood. Some infants would attempt to retain the contents of their bowels and this would result in the development of an anal retentive personality that would attempt to retain their wealth and possessions in later life.[2]

It's all down to "toilet training".

Perhaps you meant this ?

The term originated in Old England when the wealthiest citizens built their house walls of solid flint blocks, the most costly building material of the time. Imitators who wished to have the cachet of flintstone without the expense began to build their walls of brick with a facing of flintstone. The facing became known as skinflint, and the builders became known as skinflints.

Ha! yes, that's a good 'un Philip.

I went out on teh bike, picked up a new CD (that Kennedy chap with Kroke), ate some ryvitas cottage cheese and aubergine pesto, dun the washing up, watched a film, drank a bottle of fine red er.. shiraz, hoovered and dusted - the 833 is trophied, took lots of stuff to the charity shop, shaved, forgot to have a bath, fed the blasted birds and worked on the amp all in another order but who likes linearity anyway.

Oh and the hum's gone; so has the headache. All is well at Bedford Towers.

If this is A2, I like it. Mange tak, Mike.

Yes but do you get a better sound from the groove with your new skinny tyres? What down force? Have you done a blind A/B test?
