That Chinese passive + buffer on Ebay is fantastic value for money.
My best active pre-amp needs repairing, but that Chinese one is very nearly as good sounding.

What area do you live ?
I do have a Foundation Audio - research division valve preamp that I would sell for £100
But I'd want you to listen to it first and I'd not post it.
PS I see from another post you are in Northern Ireland, so not much help.

I've got a couple of tubed preamps that I've been meaning to put up for sale for ruddy ages but not got around to yet. I suspect neither will fit with what you're after as one has a built in phono stage and the other has a built in DAC, but I'll describe them here anyway.
First up is a Juicymusic Blueberry Xtreme from 2005, with MC step up transformers. This is an old 6moons write-up on what the 'cooking' Blueberry was all about, mine is basically an upgraded version of this : http://www.6moons.com/audioreviews/juic ... berry.html
Second, a ModWright LS100 with built-in USB DAC which I got in 2011 or 2012 I think. It's just come back from having a minor repair to the bias circuitry.
