#1 PCM386/DSD256 Capable USB DAC with Valve Buffer

Post by Ray P »

For Sale, PCM/DSD capable DAC with Valve Buffer. I’m selling this because I have too many projects and not enough ears. The DAC is good for PCM to 384KHz and DSD to 12.8MHz (DSD256) and sounds excellent.

I’m looking for £300 plus shipping at cost and PayPal fee. PM if you’re interested.

The project is built up with good quality parts/modules, illustrated below.

The digital boards are from JLSounds, using their I2SoverUSB and AK4490 DAC boards;

Although not integrated into the project I will also include the JLSounds LCD display, which allows the DAC to be setup with your preferences;

The differential outputs from the DAC are fed to a K&K Audio balanced shunt attenuator;

The output buffer is a Broskie BCF;

The BCF uses 6DJ8 valves to deliver a single-ended output via Cardas phono sockets. Signal resistors are Caddock MK-132 and signal caps are Reliable Cap RTX

Power to the digital boards is via TPS7A4700 low noise regulated supplies;

The 6DJ8 filaments use one of Andrew's indirect filament supplies;

The BCF B+ is regulated with one of Nick's statistical regulators;

AC is via a custom wound toroid from Canterbury windings, 220-240VAC primary only.

Here are some more pictures.

Yes, I know its PCM384! You can't edit thread titles.

Anyway, I should have said that I'm open to receiving reasonable offers.
