Hi all
bought a Q-DAC recently (thanks to HFW review) to run a portable player, FiiO X3 (thanks to HFW review), through home hi-fi. Very nice smooth sound, but by tweaking settings I can play line out through pre-amp and dispense with Q-DAC.
Why dispense with it? Because against my Thorsten Loesch-modified Pioneer DVD player it is no better, and the FiiO via line is not much worse. Thought I might try to get my money back and save up for a better DAC in due course.
Bought on Black Friday at end of Nov for £149. Played for c.10 hrs so nicely run in!
Would mind my money back (-ish) but will listen to offers.
The FiiO X3, all sound files as FLAC, sounds bloody marvellous by the way, even through a Denon all-in-one system in the lounge. I reckon it may be to do with the absence of moving parts of a music player compared with a CD player
Best
