#1 Silver Disk Spinner

Post by Ray P »

In a moment of madness (or was it inspiration) I recently became the proud 'second owner' of a dCS silver disk spinner, which means that my old player is up for grabs.

The player is a Sony DVP S9000ES capable of playing CD and SACDs (as well as ordinary DVDs) The player originally cost around £1200+ and has that truly battleship build quality that Sony seem to use on their lead-in, flagship type products.

The player does a good job of playing CDs and SACDs in standard form but I have had this one modified to level 4.5 of Allen Wrights wizardry; you can read more about it, and see some pictures of a similar player here:

Playback of CDs and SACDs through the Allen Wright modifications is outstanding and this performace could be enhanced by investing in Allen Wrights further modifications (I think he's upto at least Level 6).

The player is 'champagne' colour and is in very good condition cosmetically as well as not having missed a beat electronically. I've owned it for around 4-5years but usage has not been heavy due to their only being 24hrs in each day! I have the original box and remote control and I'm sure I can lay my hands on owner and maintenance manuals.

Unmodified versions of this player come up occasionally on Ebay, normally from Holland or Germany and sell for circa £350-400. This one is destined for Ebay too unless an Audio-Talk member takes if of my hands first - I'l settle for £350.

PM me if interested.
