Hello all,
Greetings from Ct - USA
Ali Tait turned me on to this forum, and I really liked what I saw. I'm new to DIY audio ( approx 4 yrs now ), but I can't get enough of this stuff. I'm really looking forward to learning a lot from you guys. Ali tells me there are some great builders here, and I hope to glean from the collective wisdom and knowledge of this group.
It's time for bed now over here, but in future postings I'll let you guys know about my present system and how I got there. I'm exited to be here, and I look forward to making some new friends.
Cheers, Crazy Bill
P.S. Someday, if someone cares, I'll explain how I got the nickname " Crazy Bill the Eel Killer "
Hello from the other side of the pond

Hi Bill and welcome to Audio-Talk.
May I be the first to thank Bill for telling me (on the WD forum) of his friend's experiences with DRD amps and inspiring me to develop the Loftin-White into the Elliano Direct Reactance Drive format.
Not only is the DRD format the best sounding direct-coupled amp I have heard so far, it also neatly sidesteps well known direct coupled curse where the indirectly heated drivers come up to voltage after the DHT output tubes, thereby putting them under considerable stress until the driver B+ appears on their grids.
With the DRD or monkey fed input stage, the driver tube can't conduct until the output tube has warmed up, so saving the PX25s from unnecessary stress.
Thanks again Bill.
Steve
