Just Joined, getting an interest back in listening after a few years absence. Coming from a flat earth background, moving into flat baffles, via horns. (Simplify, simplify, simplify!) No valve amps yet, but curious!

Hi, yet another local member :-)

Are you doing much today (Sunday 24th)?

This is rather cheeky of me, as its not my meeting, but SimonC is having a get together today in Shipley, might be worth having a look at the thread

Hi Nick;
Yes, I was cheeky too and dropped Simon a note inviting an invite!
No reply sadly, but I hope future opportunities will arise...

Welcome to the forum Mark.
You seem to have the benefit of living in centre of the DIY audio universe.

It does make you wonder about other parts of the country.
Much to learn there is.

there's an old boy in North Essex i believe who is an avid music listener and amp builder and then there is Mr Amp himself in Bedford !! :!: :lol:

Gonna be a bit quiet here today me thinks.

Well I'm in Bristle (Bristol UK) and I've been listening hard in the WD room at the show for the last three days and my ears, emotions and brain are completely knackered. I can't face music for at least another 48 hours. The sounds were excellent and frequently praised by punters as the best at the show. However, there is no doubt that intensive listening for long periods coupled with talking to potential customers about it all in a repeated enthusiastic manner is fatigueing.

My Slatedeck and Pre II PSU are back in the house after use at the show and I seriously don't intend to put the system back together before Wednesday.

Hi Simon,
You're probably right. That's exactly the sort of idiotic error I'm famous for. It does make me wonder if I ought to stick to 24v power supplies...

Low voltage power supplies scare me, far to much current to worry about.
