Hello Early-welcome aboard.

I don't know about the others but i like to see where members are situated,it makes it easier to offer help if people are local (ish) to you.

Also a quick resume of your current system and aspirations can help.
The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.

Sounds like you've come to the right place early, welcome aboard. There are a few of us who have (or had) horns. But don't you want to build a nice SET to try with those horns  :D

Thanks for the warm welcome chaps .

Toppsy , I'm actually even closer in Ramsbottom , but I thought if I'd typed that people would think I'm taking the piss  .

Andy , I'm not stalking you , HONEST ! .

Simon , not too sure about SET's , I'm more than happy with my PP amp .
To my ears EL34's are fantastic valves , I just love the way they
make the music bounce along .

Hi early and welcome.

How do you like your Rega Saturn? I've heard good things about them and the technical approach would seem to set it apart from most CDPs.

El34s are great tubes... oopps. Am I an American? - am I heck! They are great valves and actually designed for audio use - unlike so many we use here.

Let's face it: We love valves. There is the odd hint of mosfets but, why not!

El34s as SE are superb, subtle, delicate and do the 'welly' too. They like to be abused. If they were not so ubiquitous I'd love'em too.

Go on, you know you want to. :D

I totally agree Mullard el34 unbeatable richness of sound, it forces a character into the music, it can be a wonderful tone control.

You can keep your sterile linear amps, give me cream with my coffee and filter it through paper, laced with alnico and nickel.
