I have always found 'Ahead Rings Out' to be one of my fave 1970's albums . In the last couple of days I played 'Getting to this' and it's nearly as great .
A great blues-rock band - shared some personnel with Jethro Tull .
Treat yourself ( Is it available on CD ? - 'cos the vinyl is not cheap now ) .

Ahhh, Mick Abrahams of brief Jethro Tull fame. I liked 'This Was' very much, sounds like the Blod's carried that on. Like.

Lundun day out today, saw 2 copies of 'Ahead Rings Out' today in SoHo, both on LP. Reissue for £28 (!) and tatty original for £23. JTS failed to find any Matching Mole too on either LP or CD.

Meh!

Yeh, bad luck - the early Island stuff is getting mental these days. My only advice is that the reissue at £28 if it's a 'Pink Rim' might be worth £50 in 3 years . Sound quality will be every bit as good as the first issue in my experience with the Pink rim pressings.
Matching Mole - haven't got any - but good call. I have 'Ruth is Stranger than Richard' though and just dug it out now for a listen later - I haven't played that one for blummin' years .

I wonder if Marc Riley reads this forum ?
I just turned on Radio 6 and he was playing 'See my Way' by Blodwyn Pig - a Peel session from June 1974. Peel was there again - I still miss him .
