Editors choice November 2001 ,CD from Gramophone magazine.

I got quite a few of these in my last job lot of classical CDs, a varied selection of music. Some I like, others less so.

Listening on Youtube I've not been that taken with 'Mr Gone' but I have an intention to buy 'Sweetnighter' if I ever see one. I love 'Boogie woogie waltz' .

IMHO Mr Gone suffered from the fallout of following Heavy Weather, I can't help thinking ego's were even more to the front than before.

Sweetnighter is great as long as you are happy with the early less percussive more left field stuff. I like it anyway :-)

Would I be going out on a limb to suggest that maybe the band were more cohesive when Jaco wasn't with them ?

Hardcore !
Course now what's happened is, I had to buy a near-mint copy of 'Sweetnighter' from EBay.
Luckily only £9.99 including postage.

Well, it seems from reading and watching documentaries that Jaco and Joe tried to pull in different directions, and Wayne was trying to keep out of the way of it all and play the music.

Its not just you, I found myself on Discogs getting a copy of Jean-Luc Ponty - Enigmatic Ocean (the one I bought in 82 was worn out due to overplaying) and Terrapin Station, as I only had it on CD.

It's not just you two either, I found myself on ebay buying a copy of Phaedra because I couldn't find the copy I have somewhere... LP's all over the place in this house. Listened to stratosphere and wanted it on next. I can never find things. That was 9.99 too
