King Crimson "Beat" another fine Crimson album.
Then changing tack to Bert Jansch "A Man I'd Rather Be " then Sandy Denny "I'Ve Always Kept A Unicorn"
Utter bliss!

Listened to a load of stuff today. started off this morning with David benoit waiting for spring, then Beatles abbey road and onto Chris rea Road to hell. On vinyl, on the lenco/at1100/at150

School sent a text to say they were closing at dinner time so pick up your sods. So picked up said sods, and mugged them off upstairs to play on their computer games and watch YouTube, music resumed.

Missus then took over, she chose pink floyd relics, Beatles sergeant pepper, pink floyd wish you were here, then the Nirvana compilation that was released in 2012.
Again all on vinyl, played on the jvc/at440, she still refuses to use the manual deck.

Kids then moaned and groaned to play on the ps4 which is downstairs, so we relented and let them. Music stopped for a while.

So i got the cans and played level 42 and rush hemispheres on the lenco.
While they made a row and had arguments. I couldn't hear them. HAHA!

Bloody snow days.

Rush - rush. On the lenco and cans again, as theo (nicknamed shitbird at the moment the noisy sod) is playing on an online game and is shouting at it........Maybe I should ban him....
For a debut album this is bloody good
Got rush's archives album today for a tenner, the first 3 albums in one package.
Pretty good deal

That Archives LP is great value innits, I bought it from a 2nd hand shop when I was at school.

They step up massively between 'Rush' and 'Fly By Night' IMO. Different drummer on the 1st album too.

Yep you can definitely tell Neil pearts arrival on fly by night compared to rush, just finished fly by night, that's a great album too, onto caress of steel now.

Have to say I do like the earlier stuff, a farewell to Kings and hemispheres are my 2 faves at the moment, but rush has great energy to it, like a cross between Alice Cooper and early led zep.

Need to get 2112 next, haven't heard that one

Bo Kirkland and Ruth Davis - You're Gonna Get Next To Me.

Been looking for the 7min long version of this for years.
Finally! :rr:

Good on the KENT label for getting hold of the masters and putting out the complete recordings of this overlooked duo.

Definitely.
I got that track, (not the whole LP) plus "Think (It Ain't Illegal Yet)" on the free 12" single that came with the original 1978 release of 'One Nation Under a Groove'
I can see why you like it; prog funk rather than straight down the line. George Clinton used to run two groups, Parliament was all git down party music and crazy costumes, Funkadelic was more "out there" and experimental and they just wore army fatigues when playing live.

Awwww.....thats a stonker that one. The storyline is brill (IMO) too... Bad guys that think they know best ban music as it has no purpose... good guy accidentally comes across a stringed instrument in a cave (like you do), learns to shred on it, proudly takes it (and his ability to express emotion on it) to the elders who recognise what it is and its awethume power, they diss it (and him), he slunks off (exit stage left (arf)). Dejected, he dies but not before the Fighters of the Red Star Solar Federation attack and take over the Temple (like they do).

The other side is good too :)

No.

It was about 1979, so I'd have skated. Ha!
