What Are You Listening To Right This Minute?
#3256 Re: What Are You Listening To Right This Minute?
Stackridge. One of my favourite bands, and from Bristol too. Used to have a fan club called the Rhubarb Thrashers who would turn up to gigs with sticks of rhubarb used to thrash their mates with. I have their complete catalogue. Well worth exploring their other recordings. ‘Friendliness’ is a favourite. Nice one, Steve.

What Are You Listening To Right This Minute? Not so much what I'm listening to right now, but out of interest listen to what the modern yoot are listening and dancing to thesedays! Phwoooaaarrrr, I'd like to have been there. Our-Jonny Starbux went to the Ozora Festival in Hungary and videoed this inside one of the tents.

Just catching up on last night’s prom, with Simon Rattle conducting Walton’s famous cantata, “Belshazzar’s Feast.”
Not heard this until now, as I was never into the into the big choral stuff (probably due to having a crap system that couldn’t handle the forces involved)
Watching the subtitles, I came to the incredulous realisation that the lyrics to “Rivers of Babylon” by Boney M are almost a direct lift from Walton’s various choral lines, in part one

Back in the late ‘80s for this one:
Not played this for years. It’s an excellent album, especially from someone so young (19) at the time she wrote the songs.
Hasn’t dated.

Agree Steve, it's a fine album that still gets a regular airing down here in Taunton. I also enjoy a lot of her other stuff, I recommend Lovers in the City.
Sorry, I couldn't resist!
