Ghetto Paradise.

I decided, this afternoon, while drinking a delicious coffee in Bedfordshire's best coffee shop that if I had only one album on my desert island it would be ....

Bitches Brew.

It's a whole world of itself to explore, that record. Some extraordinary things.
I think Pharaoh's Dance is one of the greatest ever tracks. I remember discussing it with Nick and James once, I said there's section of keyboard playing near the end where it sounds like Zawinul is playing forwards and backwards at the same time, it struck me one night listening with a few glasses of wine inside me. I knew before that there was something freaky about that part but couldn't put it into words.

Oh yes! I've watched Joe Zawinul play the keyboard 'backwards' and... Oh my!

Picked up on this long forgotten piece of Brummie reggae on the radio today:

Rudi's in Love by The Locomotive.
I'd completely forgotten what a cracking record this is.

Simply grin-inducingly joyous :D 8)

sneaker pimps - becoming x

I am drawn more and more to the metallic reverby percussion....Richard Thompson was into it around the time of across a crowded room as I recall...it's quite mesmerising on a good system.

Marc cohn
Haven't played it in a long time as the disc is knackered, not through mistracking but its noisy and scratched to hell. The at150 digs through most of it though so its reasonable. Lovely piano playing all the way through, the track walk on water is probably my favourite along with the track saving the best for last.

Been listening a lot this week to King Crimson. Starting with their first and working through in chronological order.
Has reaffirmed what excellent albums different incarnations of the band produced. No other band like them.
Got as far as Starless. One album I have never been able to get into is Thraak though. Can never get through more than 10 minutes but every now and then give it another go with the same result.
Really looking forward to seeing them at Symphony Hall Birmingham in November. Not seen them live for over 45 years!
