#2492 Re: What Are You Listening To Right This Minute?
To cut a long story short. I'm back in a hotel on the wrong side if the tracks. But tonight's entertainment was a Ukrainian Estonian Celtic do punk band in a deep cellar full of Nordic and Slavic people. WOW! I have photos on my camera. DtB would have loved the singer who was stunning on the trombone. I gravitated to the bearded( yuk) bagpipe but it was the drummervwho held the set together.
As the night progteased therecwasca change to young men in black t shirts sort if po-going and getting loud. This made me thoughtful but the set, very eclectic, veered into gypsy and even klezmer I was getting confused but it was in the groove....
Now I'm trying to sleep. Riga looks like Liverpool forty years ago, a bit polish rough but with flashing lights. Since I was 14 I wanted to come here and now... that was Friday. Tomorrow I hope I find some jazz.

What better epitaph could he have, than this ?

Porridge in bed this morning because it’s all grey and grimbling outside and not a day for early morning dog walking on the beach, and anyway the tide’s in so there is no beach at the moment.
Idly going through stuff on the phone and found this, which I downloaded for the kids about 15 years ago. Overwhelming on headphones.

As a comedown to yesterday's YHC meet, and also to remind myself that there are other songs than that one on the album I'm playing this in its entirety

Another to remind me that there's more than one track on an album

Nelly Furtado, a track called Childhood’s End from album Folklore. Not sure if it’s your sort of thing Andrew, but you never know...

Sorta.
I'm a fan of what their bassist (Francis Mose) did on Gong's Flying Teapot LP. Fretless slippery slidings when it wasn't very common to do such a thing in polite company.
