What Are You Listening To Right This Minute?

Chris, I visited Colin today and I commented to him that ever since you took receipt of your new speakers, all you have done here is post what you are listening to. You are obviously one happy listening man!

That is an understatement, Greg.
More often than not the TV is off, and music is playing.
These speakers just tell me what's there on the recording, with great lucidity, and it's great to hear old friends brought back to life.
Now playing this - it had a huge impact on me back in the day.

This album has many of those "oh!" moments on it.
Arrangements that you've heard countless times, and you think you know everything going on.
"Reeling In The Years" has fair bit of vocal harmonising going on.
Tonight I heard it laid out bare, and it's not a bunch of homogenised sound as I've so often heard in the past - I can quite easily and distinctly make out all the parts, and it's a revelation.

Lowell disbanded Little Feat in 1979, shortly before he died.
The surviving members got back together in 1988, and this was the result.
I like this one a lot

It is a bit warm, isn't it?
The Ocean Colour Scene album is fabulous, and them there Reiver Acoustic Millburn speakers lay the recording and all its layers bare to behold.
Moved onto this now, and I'm thinking some of it sounds a bit Daniel Lanois type ambient, and sometimes a bit Peter Gabriel (coz PG can be heard doing BVs on occasion)

Daniel Lanois' production on the Robbie Robertson reminded me of this collaboration.

Guy Mitchell - "Singing the Blues". On CD.
Guy was popular in the 50s - 60s but (as DTB knows) good music is timeless.

"What did Delaware" by Perry Como, was another one of his faves.
