Yeah but, its doesn't work there on that album IMO. I usually like the extra 'bonus' tracks on CD reissues but IMO Ooby Scooby Doomsday is right out of place there at the end of Angels Egg. Its jars against the the closing of 'Eat that Phone book'. Especially with the little 'bye bye' at the end. Thats it, end of.

Ooby Scooby is a good song but it doesn't fit there, someone is very very naughty doing that but they need to be told off and given 100 lines or summat (IMO).
No, I agree, didnt know it was there until I looked it up. I first heard it on the Gong live release.

I appear to have found some specialist music that SWMBO actually doesn't mind. Found her song,

Im happy
I'm not happy
I'm sad
I'm not sad

Cool
Maybe look out for Magick Brother then.

I think making everyone a nice cuppa tea would be sufficient recompense ....

Can't go wrong with that.

I'm 2/3 s into a single malt with a streamed ambient station....sleep will come later, breakfast much later or early for tea time- probably not to feel that good but sometimes necessary.

Gong Live was were I 1st heard it too, it sort of fits ok there as its a bit all over the place anyway as an album (imo again).

Ant, if you enjoy the more floaty parts of Angels Egg then maybe try the preceding album 'Flying Teapot' which is part 1 of the Radio Gnome Invisible trilogy.

If you're ok with longer jazzy rocky material the you'll probably enjoy a lot of the 3rd part of the trilogy called 'You'.

I love it all dearly. Agree with MrI, can't go wrong with Camembert, although it does stand apart from the RGI trilogy in some ways like structure and band personnel.

Here's a largely forgotten 70s gem from Splinter.

I can relate to a lot of those photographs, especially the ones with the kids in.

Manvers Colliery, coking plant and gasworks below, was right next to Mexborough.
Photo shows the coke quencher going off. Acid rain once an hour, 24/7. Happy days.

Had a load of stuff on today. Thought id have a day off.

Started with Steve hillage 'green', then onto pulp 'different class'. Took a detour via feeder to 'echo park' and got onto something a bit different. Listened to a couple of seth lakeman albums, the punch bowl, kitty Jay and the latest one i have, ballads of the broken few.

Then gong angels egg again, green for the second time today, and now onto Kate Bush never forever.

I think the amp is begging for mercy after being on all day...

Hmm, what next.....
