As much as I liked band of gypsies (still remember listening to machine gun in bedsit|) I really didn't like how the black panthers pressured Hendrix to work with black musicians.
There really was no need for that, Jimi got off on working with two UK white dudes and had his arm twisted. Still, that's the politics. Can't fault the musicianship.

Now, I didn't know that, FBS . Seems like the were pressures from all angles in those times. I had assumed it was his decision to get back to his 'roots' more .
