Blimey! 'Them Changes'. What an album. A stormer. Drummer,singer,composer. Oh yeah, AND he sang AND he played drums for Hendrix in Band of Gypsys but thats nuthin' compared to this... (IMO)...

I really like what he did on 'Band of Gypsies' . That's a really great record .
I must get those links some time . Can't get them to work from this thread.

As much as I liked band of gypsies (still remember listening to machine gun in bedsit|) I really didn't like how the black panthers pressured Hendrix to work with black musicians.

There really was no need for that, Jimi got off on working with two UK white dudes and had his arm twisted. Still, that's the politics. Can't fault the musicianship.

Now, I didn't know that, FBS . Seems like the were pressures from all angles in those times. I had assumed it was his decision to get back to his 'roots' more .
