I have been lucky enough to see Po Girl live on several occasions and I can highly recommend them to anybody that likes a fusion of folk, country and Jazz styles.
They come from Canada and share some early heritage with the Be Good Tanyas. However for me they are better, the voices of Allison Russell and Awna Teixeira are truly wonderful. All the albums are good, though there most recent "Follow your Bliss" is superb and very well recorded.
They tour in the UK most years and are worth tracking down, prticularly in the smallest of venues (I have seen them once in a Church during the Ireby music festival and once in our local church hall)
