Yes, I guess purists are critical of them but their arrangements are just fun, if not a little manic - they generally make me smile.
I saw them live at Exeter Northcott and their performance had more 'theatre' than the video shows, even some pyrotechnics.

Apart from comedy records (ie Monty Python) what do you recommend ?
I'll bite, OK, try Flight of the Conchords.

I saw this lot once, quite by accident, supporting Stray, Bromley Teachers Training College, as I recall.
They done a particularly good job of the evergreen 'It Ain't The Meat It's The Motion' with the self-confessed 'fat bastard' singer giving convincing forward groin movements with the vocals.
Relevant boxes ticked - certified loony

Alberto y los trios paranoias - Ha! I remember them. They might have been sociology students at Sheffield (corse they might not) I saw them a couple of times in London; teh biggest venue was the Royal Court in Chelsea.
They were brilliant. (I had a soft spot for the Barron Knights back in the 60s too)
However, I still have an EP of theirs and I suppose I'd better dig it out and have a lisssen.

Yeah but no but ... I know I still remember using '78's (wha'?) is there really someone here who does not know what an EP is?
If there is then I apologise unreservedly and will eat my Twist & Shout Ep as a penance.
