There's one last thing I have to put before you. I bought this album when I was about 14 (I remember my grandmother being most concerned by the cover, but when she grew up in the 1890s such things were simply not done!), lost it when I was 19, by which time I would never have admitted that I owned it, then found it again on Ebay about three years ago. It's just as good as I remember.

The world looks so different after learning science. For example, trees are made of air, primarily. When they are burned, they go back to air, and in their flaming heat is released the flaming heat of the Sun which was bound in to convert air into tree.

That must be an Allegro 3.

My Dad had a 1500HL for a while, and he liked it.

I learned to drive in a 'T' reg one those, a 1300 HLE IIRC.

It probably explains why, to this day, I still drive like a Grandad!

Make it stop, make it stop.....

That last one eerily takes me back to queuing for a choc ice at Lewisham Odeon during the intermission half way through Thunderball. And wondering if there was any chance at all of asking out the usherette named Hazel even though she was at least 18 ands I was just 14.

And yes, I know Thunderball was a 15 rated film, but I bunked in through the first floor window... ;)

Very cathartic. Did anyone listen to, and enjoy, something he wouldn't have dreamed of listening to before? Not that I'd expect them to admit it!

If you go into this world with an open mind, it can be a fascinating
avenue to explore. What I like about easy listening is it's unerring ability to cheer you up on the greyest of days.

Tony Bennet played the Glastonbury Festival a few years ago, one of the muddy ones.

His performance was notable, apparently, for him taking the stage in an immaculate light coloured suit, singing his set and leaving the stage without so much as one speck of mud on his suit.

Other artists did not fare so well thanks to the somewhat over-enthusiastic crowd hurling mudballs stagewards.

Class.
