Its also available as a Blu Ray, and has been shown on BBC HD or Sky Arts HD (can't remember which) but may be worth watching out for a repeat. I agree it was a fantastic performance.
There have been some very good live performances recorded especially for the BBC in HD with excellent picture and sound - Ray Lamontagne was the standout for me.

Aha yes, well, I'm not HD-telly/blu-ray enabled at present unfortunately . It does remind me that I need to get the CD of that session though . I will check up on Ray Lamontagne in the meantime .

Blu-ray is showing signs of succeeding as a hi-def audio format where DVDA and SACD never really took hold
This was the Ray Lamontagne performance:

I think he has released two albums, I like both of them a lot.

Hi Mark,

well thats a good question....

Jan Hammer played keys but the rhythm section was two young guys I'd not seen before - I must find out.....google search coming on....they looked like twins.

Also Vic Reeves was there with his missus who sang a number which Jeff accompanied ( she wasnt the best singer... ) but Vic must be a mate of Jeff's I guess.

some of his best playing ever that night......

thanks for the heads up on October

Ps. that last gig was very good - maybe not quite as good as the 2009 show though .

Meanwhile : he's out and about again :

You're lucky. I always felt that the combination of Jeff, Tal and Vinnie, with Jason on the side, was the best ever. Unfortunately I've never seen him live, but have both the Ronnie Scott's thing and the extended Crossroads Concert dvd imprinted on my retinas.
After Vinnie and Tal left it was a different thing altogether, I thought,
still Jeff, but not "it".
Just my personal opinion, I know! :)

That was a special combination . After seeing the Ronnie Scott's DVD, I jumped at the opportunity to see that band live and was not disappointed.

Who knows what he'll do in the next few years though - he's still playing brilliantly , and with his reputation, he can take his pick of the best musicians .

I'd like to see/hear JB playing in 'Unorthodox Behaviour' era Brand X. That'd be killer I reckon.

I was listening to some Brand X this evening Dave, and marvelling at what that band could do with a track like 'D M Z' . You always think , don't you, "Phil Collins - what went wrong ?"

Ha! Almost that same conversation came up yesterday at MrT's, Brand X accompanied a very nice lunch.
