Yes it does appear to be a red-hot glowing nut on some sort of an electrical bus-bar

Been there, done that, its what happens when you dont tighten them down correctly.
Whenever an honest man discovers that he's mistaken, he will either cease to be mistaken or he will cease to be honest.

So what's going on there ?
Is that DC or RF doing that ?
Is that DC or RF doing that ?

Could be DC or AC. Mine was the incoming 3 phase to power the heaters that heated the patterns of the 3000 tonne SPF press to 1000C for BAE. was all working fine until we tried it on full heat, when after 5 minutes there was a "woof" and a shower of sparks. One of the cables that was bolted to a phase bar had not been tightened down correctly, as it was passing the 250 or so amps, the contact was arcing, so started getting hot, as it got hot the contact got worst, eventually it got hot enough for the edge of the cable tray to cut through the insulation on the cable, so shorted one phase to earth and it all stopped.IslandPink wrote: ↑Tue Aug 14, 2018 7:52 pm So what's going on there ?

We were encouraged to go to Shrewsbury Folk Festival last weekend with friends and really enjoyed it. Saw some really good bands and heard some good music. Also saw Steeleye Span - who knew shouting arse isn't the done thing
