Indeed Steve. Now that the festivities are more or less behind us I hope to get some more time. I think I've got everything major bar the toroids for the 13E1 B+ and filaments but I'm hoping they'll be with me soon as I ordered them almost a month ago.

I've given quite a bit of thought to the build, first with the 6C33Cs and latterly the 13E1s so I think they'll be some nice touches as it comes together.

I've resolved the issue of the glass envelope of the 13E1s touching the top plate at several points. After discussing the application with Jac at JacMusic I have substituted a pair of teflon sockets for the ceramic ones. I originally planned on using these with the 6C33C project but it turns out that the general advice is that the high temperatures of the 6C33C filament pins make them unsuitable. The 13E1s should run somewhat cooler so it's good to make use of these expensive sockets rather than have wasted money on them.

I drilled the flanges of the sockets to suit the top plate and bolted them in place; the bottom of the 13E1s are now away from the chassis by a few millimetres.

The ceramic sckets will be handy if I progress with the 6C33C build sometime.

That certainly looks like a good solution to the low lying socket problem.

That does look much better, TBH, like they've been designed to fit the panel. :thumbleft:

Last day of my festive break today so we headed down to the coast for a constitutional, but, I did manage to spend some time drilling the holes to mount the 13E1 power supply chokes inside the chassis, only to find out I didn't have enough bolts of the required length so have ordered more via ebay. All being well I should be starting to assemble the amplifier chassis this weekend.

A little more progress with my built today, now have the 13E1 PS chokes mounted, along with the Neurochrome Maida regulator for the driver stage.

Looking at the images, the electrolytic caps for the Maida regulator look a tad close to the Septal socket - might not be a good idea if the socket pins get hot so I may flip the panel holding the regulator around.

I just spent the last of my Christmas gift cash on a pair of the K&K Audio cathode current sink modules. Will be interesting to see if they make a difference when I get further along.

We need to find a collective noun for them.

DPD seem to have got ahead of themselves with their delivery notification; seems the transforms are just leaving Toroidy in Poland. Still progress though, drilling the rear panel.

Things are starting to come together, this shows the main CLCLC supply for one of the 13E1s;
