I beleive there's science and a way of measuring/nulling, but the tubes vary. I must have just taken whatever Gary Pimm was recommending about 10 years ago.
Was it Born Kolbrek who had some recent article about getting values for this ? I'll dig it out if so.
Anyway as I remember the values I chose made a very useful difference;.

I did follow what Bjorn did for the line stage. I had a switch on it. Couldn't hear any difference when I got the VR tube biased correctly. Very odd but then it is a diff amp. Don't know if that makes it less sensitive.
